"I'm back where I belong and this is where I plan to stay from now on," says Missy Miller, returning to the Josephine Theatre, where she directed many shows that are fondly remembered by many San Antonio theatergoers and where she nurtured many local performers.

After being involved in various ventures away from the Josephine, she is currently presenting a show there entitled "Legends of the Golden Oldies", a fast-paced review of music from the 1950s and 1960s.

"This is really a family affair," says Missy, citing six family members who are involved in this production, including her brothers Tommy and Tim Miller.

Tommy Miller - still noted for his hilarious performances in La Cage aux Folles, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and (most recently) The Fantasticks, as well as other shows - once again establishes his considerable talent for comedy in this production, while the show in general has Missy Miller's trademark qualities of well-rehearsed singing and slick choreography.

Missy and her family now hope to restore the theatre to its former glory days, when Missy's productions dominated the local musical theatre scene after she was appointed the youngest artistic director in San Antonio's theatre history, with the Josephine being specifically acquired as a showcase for her talents in the 1990s.

One of her plans is to eventually re-introduce "Broadway Tonight", which was once a regular feature at the Josephine, a free after-show event featuring singers performing songs from the musicals.

The theatre is located at 339 W Josephine St. Telephone 210 734 4646 to reserve seats.
