The Utah Cultural Celebration Center Hosts Matinee Of 'Having Our Say' For MLK Day

In honor of Martin Luther King/ Human Rights Day holiday and Black History Month, the Utah Cultural Celebration Center is pleased to present a matinee of the "Having Our Say" theatrical production in collaboration with the Grand Theater, Salt Lake Community College, and the Utah Humanities Council.
The presentation is offered free of charge to all student groups, senior groups and to the general public, as part of the cultural center's ARTrageous program. Please join us:February 2, 2010Having Our Say, Matinee at Grand Theatre, 10amHaving Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years, presents the trials and tribulations of two African American sisters during their century of life.
The Grand Theatre is located at 1575 South State Street, Salt Lake City.We also encourage groups to visit the UCCC's Celebration Gallery for a tour of the exhibit Utah's African Heritage: Storytelling Through Art and Artifact. This is a beautiful exhibit of items loaned by community members for display. The unique collection creates a snapshot look at Utah's African and African American community today, and will be on display through March 1st.An additional ARTrageous program related to this exhibit and hosted at the cultural center is scheduled for February 9. Join us anytime that day for a guided tour of the exhibit followed by a hands on arts making experience (beading jewelry) lead by a local African American artist who works closely with Sudanese refugees. Reservations are required.
