Multitalented R&B singer/songwriter/musician, Corinne Bailey Rae, will perform on Friday, August 10, 2018, part of the 2018 St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Series. The performance will be held at City Park, at 6:00 P.M.

"We are proud to present Corinne Bailey Rae as part of our pop-up series, this summer," said PCI Executive Director, Teri Orr. "She has performed with Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, played everywhere from New Orleans to Singapore, Hollywood to Glastonbury. We know our audience will be excited to see her perform on our stage."

Bailey Rae is best known for her global hits, "Put Your Records On," and "Like a Star," from her 2006 debut album. Her second album "The Sea" (2010), was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize. She received a GRAMMY for Best R&B performance for her EP "This Is Love." Her third studio album "The Heart Speaks In Whispers," was called "The best R&B of 2016," by the Guardian, and "A gorgeous piece of psychedelic soul," by the Telegraph.

With roots in R&B, Bailey Rae is often praised for her ability to cross and blend genres; she composes and performs music for film and TV, including Stan Lee's Lucky Man, a television series in the UK, and Universal Pictures' Fifty Shades Darker.

Her degree in English literature from the University of Leeds, informs the way Bailey Rae chronicles love and loss in her music. "Language and poetry are endlessly fascinating. The most brilliant work can be so sparse, yet so full of meaning," she said. "That's what I'm looking for in a song: imagery to describe things in ways that are perfectly concise. I'm constantly trying to find one hard, crystal thing."
