Peter and the Wolf , by Sergei Prokofiev, was written in 1936 for orchestra and narrator and has become one of the most popular pieces for young audiences around the world. Each character and animal is represented by a particular instrument and musical theme. The Eureka Symphony's 11 a.m. performance is free and co-sponsored by Umpqua Bank and Dell’Arte. An “instrument petting zoo” will happen at10:30 a.m. to give young audiences a chance to touch and hear the instruments before the show.
