In celebration of the 50th anniversary of its London Premiere, Capital Stage continues its 10th Anniversary Season with THE HOMECOMING, by Nobel Laureate Harold Pinter. Winner of the 1967 Tony Award for Best Play, THE HOMECOMING exposes issues of sex and power and challenges the place of morals in family life. Capital Stage Associate Artist and prolific director Janis Stevens (THE REAL THING, HEDDA GABLER, HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE, AMERICAN BUFFALO, FOOL FOR LOVE) directs. THE HOMECOMING will run from April 29 through May 31, with a Press Opening on Saturday May 2, 2015.

In an old and slightly seedy house in North London there lives a family of men. Into this sinister abode comes the eldest son, Teddy, who, having spent the past six years teaching philosophy in America, is now bringing his wife, Ruth, home to visit the family she has never met. As the play progresses, Teddy's younger brothers make increasingly outrageous passes at their sister-in-law in a dangerous game of one-upmanship, ultimately relinquishing control to Ruth in a theatrical turnabout that has left audiences stunned for more than 40 years. Advisory: For Mature Audiences

Considered one of Britain's most influential dramatists, Harold Pinter (1930-2008) was a playwright, director, actor, poet and political activist. He wrote 29 plays including THE BIRTHDAY PARTY, THE CARETAKER, NO MAN'S LAND, and BETRAYAL; 21 screenplays including THE SERVANT, THE GO-BETWEEN and THE FRENCH LIEUTENANT'S WOMAN; and directed 27 theater productions, including James Joyce's EXILES, David Mamet's OLEANNA, 7 plays by Simon Gray and many of his own plays including his latest, CELEBRATION, paired with his first, THE ROOM at The Almeida Theatre, London in the spring of 2000. In 2005, Harold Pinter was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. In awarding Pinter the Nobel Prize, the Swedish Academy noted: "Harold Pinter is generally seen as the foremost representative of British drama in the second half of the 20th Century. That he occupies a position as a modern classic is illustrated by his name entering the language as an adjective used to describe a particular atmosphere and environment in drama: 'Pinteresque'."

The design team includes Ron Madonia (scenic and lighting), Gail Russell (costumes), Sarah Thomson (costume design assistant), Paul Kreutz (set decoration), and Ed Lee (sound).
