Runaway Stage Productions to Present 'HOW TO SUCCEED,' 9/6-29
Runaway Stage Productions will present How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at Sierra 2's 24th Street Theatre in downtown Sacramento, Fridays through Sundays, September 6-29.
A satire of big business and all it holds sacred, the musical follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who uses a little handbook called "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" to climb the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive, tackling such familiar but potent dangers as the aggressively compliant "company man," the office party, backstabbing co-workers, caffeine addiction and, of course, true love. Winner of the 1962 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying melds wit, comedy, and romance together to perfection.
"How To Succeed is a wonderful throwback to 1960's musicals, with a hilarious script, big dance numbers, snappy dialogue and great musical numbers," RSP Producing Director Bob Baxter said. "It's a light, entertaining time at the theatre. With the incomparable RSP Resident Orchestra providing the punch of the musical score and Darryl Strohl (Director and Choreographer) providing the perfect marriage of dance and acting. A guaranteed crowd pleaser, this show is a 'can't miss!'"
The cast stars David Holmes as Finch, Brent Null as J.B. Biggley, Gillian Tarkington as Rosemary Pilkington, Cassie March as Hedy LaRue, and Cole Forstedt as Mr. Bratt.
