Experience a jaw-dropping spectacle of Chinese circus, acrobatics, and Peking Opera performed by China's most revered circus artists! This family-friendly performance exhibits unparalleled grace, agility, flexibility, and athleticism displayed by these highly trained artists that juggle, contort, and balance their bodies in ways that boggle the mind. Enhanced with traditional Chinese music, brightly colored costumes and makeup, and elaborate props, there is something for everyone in this sensory stimulating production.

This company is one of China's longest running and most esteemed circus troupes. It has been instrumental in reviving the circus genre, and has directly influenced circuses around the world, including Cirque du Soleil and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey.

The National Acrobats and Circus of the People's Republic of China presents Peking Dreams performs on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 7:30 pm; Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 2 and 7:30 pm; and Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 2 and 7 pm. Tickets are priced at $21-$39; Premium $45. Tickets are available online at www.harriscenter.net or from Harris Center Ticket Office at 916-608-6888 from noon to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday, and two hours before show time. Parking is included in the price of the ticket. Harris Center is located on the west side of Folsom Lake College campus in Folsom, CA, facing East Bidwell Street.

The National Circus of The People's Republic of China was founded in 1951, and since that time the company has been dedicated to the innovation and excellence in the circus and acrobatic arts. It has produced a large number of excellent circus acts with distinctive Chinese national style and characteristics. The company's "Juggling Benches with Feet," won gold medals at the 11th World Acrobatic Championship in Britain in 1986 and the 10th Cirque de Demain Festival in France in 1987. In 1990, it again won the Gold Medal at Korea's Spring of April Art Festival together with the act of "Hula Hoops." The act of "Balance on Double Planks" won the Silver Clown at the 14th Monte Carlo International Circus Festival in Monaco in 1989. The act of "Aerial Silk" won the Silver Medal at the 5th China Wuhan International Acrobatics Festival in 2002. In 2012, the company again won the Golden Medal at the 2nd International Circus Festival in Spain and Silver Medal at the 6th International Festival of Circus Art in Russia. Many other acts of the troupe were also awarded gold medals, silver medals, and other prizes at the national acrobatics and magic competitions in China.

In recent years, the show productions of the company like City of Springs and Peking Dreams have been highly praised by domestic and international audiences. Representing China, the Company has visited and performed in more than 50 countries and regions including Japan, the United States of America, Romania, Hungary, Germany, Russia, Brazil, Singapore, Pakistan, Britain, France, Spain, South & North Korea, Indonesia, Colombia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, among many others, making great contributions to the role of China's national acrobatic and circus art on the international scene. The National Circus of the People's Republic of China 2015 tour of North America will showcase many impressive circus acts such as hats juggling, diving through rings, bicycles, feet juggling with umbrellas, unicycles, adagio of four and grand martial arts and more. The program also includes traditional circus acts like hula hoops, balance on high chairs, aerial silk, solo trapeze and rope tricks (lasso) commonly featured under the circus tent. This production was performed for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 and has been performed more than 600 shows in front of more than 400,000 people in China, Europe, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
