BUDDY - THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY Runs 12/27-12 at Community Center Theater

In just three short years, Buddy Holly set the music world on fire and forever changed the face and sound of rock and roll. Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story, the musical that charts his meteoric climb, legendary adventures and tragic fall on the fateful day the music died, is the next Broadway Sacramento production, running at the Community Center Theater December 27, 2013 through January 2, 2014. Armed with a Fender Stratocaster guitar, his signature specs and a charismatic blend of rockabilly swagger, Buddy explodes onto the stage in this jukebox musical fully loaded with classics "Peggy Sue," "Oh Boy," "That'll Be the Day," "Well All Right," "Not Fade Away" and many more, with an encore that will have you on your feet and dancing in the aisles.

Ticket prices for Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story range from $21 to $88. Tickets are on sale now, and are available by calling (916) 557-1999 or at the Wells Fargo Pavilion Box Office, 1419 H Street, Sacramento. Now celebrating its 25th Anniversary, one of the first jukebox musicals, Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story has been seen by millions of fans in fifteen countries around the world, including the United States. The musical premiered in London's West End in October, 1989, where it ran for twelve years and over 5,000 performances. A Broadway production followed in 1990. The score includes over twenty of rock and roll's greatest hits by Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper and more.

Following the success of this summer's engagements in cities such as St. Paul, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Toronto, Buddy has been remounted for a Fall tour featuring an all new cast and physical production and starring Todd Meredith, now in his 14th production playing the lead role of Buddy Holly. Directed by Steve Steiner, an original company member in the Broadway production of Buddy, this tour's talented company also features Jenny Stodd,Greg Kalafatas, Emilio Ramos and performers from the Rave-Ons, America's premiere Buddy Holly tribute band.

Continuing the Broadway Sacramento 2013 -14 season after Buddy, will be Flashdance - The Musical Feb. 4 - 9, 2014; Blue Man Group Mar. 11 - 16, 2014; Sister Act Apr. 8 - 13, 2014;Wicked May 28 - Jun. 15, 2014.
