Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theater opens a new season of the musical masterpiece Bizet

The "Carmen" very interesting scenic destiny. The premiere of the opera by French composer Georges Bizet took place in France, in Paris, in the theater "Opera Comique" March 3, 1875 and ended in complete failure .... Such a review created "Carmen" immense popularity. Only on the stage of the Paris Opera Comique, and only in the premiere season was about fifty performances. However, the "Carmen" for a long time disappeared from the podiums of Paris and was resumed only in 1883, as amended by the composer Ernest Guiraud, who replaced spoken dialogue recitatives, as well as added some ballet scenes, using music from other works of Georges Bizet. After a long break by popular demand viewers Yekaterinburg Theater decided on a new production of the opera. This was a year of double anniversary "Carmen": 170 years ago it was published a short story by Prosper Mérimée, and 140 years ago in Paris, the premiere of Bizet's opera.

In Yekaterinburg theater is already the 13th version of the "Carmen". Opera became a poster of the first theatrical season of 1912-1913., And was last staged in 1993, the year.
