A student of MauriceBjart, Carole Alexis choreographic workis rooted in classical ballet trainingand tradition while drawing upon influences as disparate as childrens games,island rituals, natural phenomena, and modern urbanlife. Her dances entice andcharm the viewer with elements of humor, psychological insight and surprise.Alexis is an artist who understands that movement isthe most basichuman expression and that the refinement of French ballet technique has allowedfor the highest level of movement possible.
