Stoopid Daddy Records will present An Evening of Swing, Stride and Boogie Woogie Piano on October 19, 2012 at 9 PM in association with the 12 Grapes Restaurant (12 North Division St., Peekskill NY). The talents of 5 New York-based pianists will be featured: Dave Keyes, Jon Cobert, Scott Staton, Loren Korevec and Chase Garrett. Also featured will be 5 guest vocalists: The Blues Buddha, Duchess Di, Curtis Winchester, Susan McMahon and a rare NY performance by Denny Leroux.

This one-night-only event will recapture the early American art form of the Swing, Stride and Boogie Woogie Piano style of piano playing. Five accomplished performers will each present their own individual approaches to the form and in addition will accompany five guest vocalists who also specialize in this particular genre of the Blues and Jazz tradition.

Boogie Woogie piano festivals are very popular in Europe. The UK Boogie Woogie Festival in Sturminster Newton England, Laroquebrou in the Auvergne region of France, Silvan Zingg's event in Switzerland and Reneaud Patigny's Boogie Woogie festival in Brussels are some of the best known of the many annual European piano festivals. Several of the pianists featured at the October 19th event have performed at these festivals and hope to bring the tradition to NY for years to come.

The entertainment fee is $12 or $6 with a dinner entree. To make dinner reservations, call 12 Grapes at 914-737-6624. To purchase tickets for the event, visit http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07e6fo11o329b285b0&llr=htbr5ykab or call 845-267-5435.
