The Wilbury Theatre Group continues its record-breaking 2018/19 season with the Rhode Island premiere of the avant-americana musical by César Alvarez and The Lisps, Futurity, December 6-23, 2018.

Originally commissioned by the Walker Center for the Arts and developed in performances at Boston's American Repertory Theatre and New York's SohoRep, Futurity was hailed as a groundbreaking work in the musical theatre by critics and audiences alike. Winner of the 2016 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical, Futurity is the electrifying story-concert of Julian, a Civil War soldier with dreams for a technical utopia, and Ada Lovelace, a mathematician thousands of miles away. Together they team up to create a machine to end one of the darkest periods in our history.

Directed for The Wilbury Group by Brien Lang with musical direction by Milly Massey and featuring an army of 12 actor/musicians including Alexander Platt as Julian and Meg Sullivan as Ada Lovelace.

FUTURITY is presented December 6-23, 2018 at The Wilbury Theatre Group, 40 Sonoma Court, Providence RI. Tickets are $15-$38. Call 401.400.7100 or www.thewilburygroup.org/Futurity
