Drama Desk Award-Winner Lisa Howard to Appear at Ocean State Theatre Next Month

Drama Desk Award-winner, Lisa Howard will be performing as part of the Broadway Spotlight II concert scheduled for Monday, March 6 at Ocean State Theatre in Warwick.

The concert, which is being produced exclusively for Ocean State Theatre Company by Rhode Island native, Stephen DeAngelis, who brought five amazing Broadway performers to Ocean State Theatre in October, returns with an all new concert featuring another five great "straight-from-Broadway" performers - including Rhode Island's own Richard H. Blake. The performers will recreate some of their most memorable musical moments, share some of their backstage stories and engage in a Q & A session with the audience! You can't find this much Broadway talent on one stage...unless you are on Broadway!

Lisa Howard was honored with a Drama Desk Award nomination for her starring role of Jenny Steinberg in the musical comedy It Shoulda Been You directed by David Hyde Pierce. Other Broadway roles include Diva 1 in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert; Missy Hart in the new musical 9 to 5, Head Nurse in Lincoln Center's revival of South Pacific and Rona Lisa Peretti in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, for which she won a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance. Ms. Howard has toured with the national company of LES MISERABLES and performed around the country at such prominent regional theaters as St. Louis MUNY, Olney Theatre Center, Goodspeed Opera House, Barrington Stage and Kansas City Starlight. On the concert scene, Lisa most recently appeared at Feinstein's 54 Below in NYC with her solo cabaret show, "I Want It All." She has sung with the Cincinnati Symphony and with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops in their Broadway Show Stoppers series and Holiday Pops concerts. She has appeared in the Kaufman Center's Broadway Close-up series and at Town Hall in NYC, where she performed in "Broadway Unplugged," "A Night at the Operetta" and the popular "Broadway By The Year" series. Lisa made her feature film debut as Siobhan in the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn Part 2 and can also be seen in the indie psychological thriller, Decay. TV credits include "Ugly Betty" and "Power." Her debut solo CD, "Songs of Innocence and Experience" is available on iTunes. Lisa is a graduate of the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. Her next project is the upcoming world premiere of Escape to Margaritaville featuring the music of Jimmy Buffett. www.lisahowardnyc.com.

Producer Stephen DeAngelis, who has produced over 200 different Broadway concerts at venues in New York and across the United States, will be producing his second concert in his home state. His concerts have featured a multitude of Broadway stars including many Tony Award and Drama Desk Award-winners and nominees, stars from hit television series and films, whose roots are on stage, and Broadway's fastest rising young stars. He is also the Producing Artistic Director and Host of At This Performance..., the critically acclaimed concert series, which has showcased the talents of over 800 Broadway standbys, understudies and alternates since October 2003. Stephen is also one of Manhattan's most accomplished and respected Casting Directors.
