2nd Story Theatre Ends Run of THE VOYSEY INHERITANCE 4/11
Bernie Madoff's got nothing on the Voyseys! In David Mamet's award-winning adaptation of Harley Granville-Barker's gripping drama, Edward Voysey not only inherits his family business but the malpractice of cheating clients to keep the business solvent. The production at 2nd Story Theatre will end its run on April 11th.
"David Mamet writes about business like no one's business. And the combination of his incisive view of the world of finance and Harley Granville-Barker's intuitive knowledge of a family on the brink, makes a perfect pairing," says director Ed Shea. "It's a taut, tense and fascinating look at high finance that rivals the best of Lillian Hellman."
2nd Story Theatre is partially funded by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts.
2nd Story Theatre is a professional, non-union company with a unique aesthetic and the highest artistic standards for excellence in the performance of great plays in its relaxed black box theatre. Founded in Newport, Rhode Island in 1978 by Pat Hegnauer and Ed Shea, the theatre found a permanent home in the historic district of Warren, RI in 2001 under the artistic direction of Ed Shea.
