Review: Tragedy-turned-comedy ‘& Juliet’ gives voice to the voiceless in a show made to keep you laughing
From: The Spokesman-Review | Date: 10/21/2026
Juliet and Romeo, as Anne says toward the musical’s end, represent “two people who have always loved each other, trying for a new beginning.” Juliet – instead of death – is given a second chance at agency over her own narrative, putting herself first. Likewise, Anne confronts an unhappy relationship through rewriting one of her husband’s most famous plays in a musical designed to keep the audience laughing while handling worldly topics.
