Each night, twelve princesses sing a song that allows them secret passage into the enchanted forest filled with beautiful music. They dance the night away as the spirit of their mother watches over them. Each morning, however, their father, the king, is perplexed by twelve pairs of worn shoes outside their room. Not to mention the worn-out shoemaker and his apprentices who do nothing but repair shoes day in and day out. Finally, the king issues a proclamation.
