The York Symphony Orchestra has announced its new Executive Director. Starting May 7, Anthony Wise will begin his new role with the YSO. Wise has served as the YSO's Operations Manager and Personnel Manager since 2021.

On Friday, November 11, 2022, acclaimed pianist Orion Weiss will release his new album, Arc II: Ravel, Brahms, Shostakovich, on First Hand Records.

The orchestra includes refugees; Ukrainian members of European orchestras, including the Tonkunstler Orchestra of Vienna, the Belgian National Orchestra and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra; and musicians from the Kyiv National Opera, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra and Kharkiv Opera, among Ukrainian ensembles.

In a gesture of solidarity with the victims of the war in Ukraine, the Metropolitan Opera and the Polish National Opera will assemble leading Ukrainian musicians into the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra for a European and American tour July 28–August 20.

Today, the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) announced it has extended Gianandrea Noseda's contract as Music Director for an additional two seasons, through the 2026–2027 season, his tenth at the helm of the NSO.

Acclaimed pianist Orion Weiss today released his new album, Arc I: Granados, Janáček, Scriabin, on First Hand Records. Arc I is the inaugural album of an ambitious three-part series and features important works for solo piano from the frantic years of 1911-1913 – the precipice before World War I.
