The first all-Gershwin concert in history Cuban Overture will be re-created July 11, 2024 at the Hollywood Bowl as All-Gershwin.  Former LA Phil Associate Conductor Lionel Bringuier reprises the night with Gershwin’s iconic classical, jazz, and Caribbean rhythms, while celebrating Rhapsody in Blue’s 100th anniversary, The evening will feature the Los Angeles Philharmonic, pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet,   and vocalists Isabel Leonard and Tony Yazbeck. Tony graciously took time to answer a few of my queries.

Starring David B. Friedman as Dewey and Farmers Alley Theatre favorite and Broadway star Hannah Elless as Headmistress Rosalie Mullins, the show features an amazing lineup of talented young performers who perform sensational rock live onstage every night.

Gianmarco Soresi can be seen on stages around the country performing standup comedy– but he got his start in musical theater. He’s exploring the special place of those childhood roles in a new show at Caveat called Theater Adult, where Soresi will dive into childhood roles of former theater kids. His first guest will be Natalie Walker on July 7th.

I am delighted to have had a chance to interview Jill Van Velzer who plays the role of Mrs. Burke in GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY. An accomplished actress, Velzer has also toured with productions of Phantom of the Opera and King & I, in addition to acting in numerous regional productions.

There are not enough words to express how excited I am about Celebrity Attractions bringing DISNEY'S ALADDIN THE MUSICAL to Robinson Center, 426 West Markham St., in Little Rock, Wednesday, Feb. 1, through Sunday, Feb. 5.

Freedonia Marxonia, the annual Marx Brothers festival held on the SUNY Fredonia campus, will once again be held virtually this year. The featured event, live streaming on Friday, October 1, is There's Nothing Like Liberty: The Marx Brothers and America, an 'illustrated lecture' by Noah Diamond.

Actress Gabriela Garcia has saved the day after illness struck the cast of the sold-out critically acclaimed production of Rent at Manchester's Hope Mill Theatre. Gabriela Garcia stepped in at just a few hours notice to play the pivotal role of Mimi.

The title of the show is a nod to Libov's career as a writer, which has included regular bylines in the New York Times, as well as multiple award-winning books, and a professional speaking career.

The National Theatre's five-time Olivier Award nominated epic play, The Lehman Trilogy, is set to resume performances on Broadway on Saturday, September 25, with an opening night set for Thursday, October 14 at the Nederlander Theatre. General On-Sale tickets for The Lehman Trilogy will be available beginning Wednesday, June 9 at 10am ET.

The veteran Broadway chorus boy Bradley Jones, who segued into a career as a psychoanalytic clinician and author, is currently in the midst of a crowd-pleasing comeback to the stage. His cabaret debut, which took off in a sold-out, one-night stand at The Metropolitan Room last year, continues for three nights this spring. 'Dr. Bradley's Fabulous Functional Narcissim: The Solo Show,' Jones's raucously funny and insightful coming of age story that rockets through the '60s of his childhood, through the '70s and '80s of his Broadway years, all the way to the present, gets started for two nights at The Laurie Beechman at the West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd Street, on Friday May 11, at 7pm and Saturday May 19, at 1pm. The fun continues for a third date at Don't Tell Mama, 343 West 46th Street, on Friday June 15 at 8pm. Jones is supported by a quartet, The Freudians, led by Mike Pettry, the show's music director, on piano, with Alden Banta on woodwinds, Jacob Silver on bass, and Zack Eldridge on percussion.

I never feel let down when I attend An Evening of Classic Broadway at Rockwell Table and Stage. The singers are incredibly talented, led by lovely producer Dianne Fraser and delightful musical director Brad Ellis. Ellis narrates, introduces many of the guests and inserts delicious anecdotes about the performers and the music being played. This show on Tuesday November 28 was no exception. With Christmas only a few weeks away, Christmas music was expected. However, many were just as happy as the radio is inundated with holiday music. This is Broadway and what we got were some fabulous songs from shows both present and past.
