The film has been called a masterpiece by so many, it's hard to keep count. For it's 50th Anniversary, SEVEN SAMURAI has been completely restored in 4K for the first time. It will be screened only once at Jaffrey's Park Theatre on Friday, July 26 at 6:30 pm.

One of the most thrilling movie epics of all time, Seven Samurai (Shichinin no samurai) tells the story of a sixteenth-century village whose desperate inhabitants hire the eponymous warriors to protect them from invading bandits. Porchlight Music Theatre has revealed the cast and creative team for its free summer music series, BROADWAY IN YOUR BACKYARD, bringing musical theatre performances to various Chicago neighborhoods.

Ghostly Kisses has released their sophomore album Darkroom, out now via Akira Records. For their new record, the band launched what they’ve dubbed the 'Box Of Secrets' initiative, allowing fans to anonymously reveal their deepest intimacies. What they discovered was a global, post-pandemic, postmodern era of pain - an intense and strange loneliness felt around the world. Arkansas State University Beebe theater department has blossomed so much under the tutelage of Director Ryan Gibbons that they now offer multiple opportunities for their students to work on and off the stage. In March the ASU Beebe Theatre presented BLACK BOX NIGHT, where students were able to gain experience performing in a more intimate setting, and then in April, the students adapted Lewis Carroll’s iconic ALICE novels into a script molding in their own vision. Though vastly different, both shows allowed the students to prove that they were worthy of competing with the larger programs in Arkansas.

Ice Spice, the popular rapper, will be making her acting debut in Spike Lee's next film. A remake of the 1963 Akira Kurosawa thriller, she will join Denzel Washington (who was previously announced) in her first feature film. In a Tweet, Apple confirmed production on the film with a photo of Lee and Washington.
