William Peace University to Host Annual Community Moravian Lovefeast Service, 12/8

By:

William Peace University, a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced it will host its annual community Moravian Lovefeast service on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Dinwiddie Chapel, located at 15 E. Peace St. Led by Rev. Dr. R. Lee Carter, Bennett Chaplain, the Lovefeast will feature special student, faculty and staff speakers. The service is dedicated to Christian love, and community members are welcomed to receive communion at the event.

Based on the Agape feast and meals of the early church described in the Bible, which were partaken in unity and love, a traditional Moravian Lovefeast features dieners (from the German word for servers) providing a sweetened bun and coffee to the congregation in the pews. Songs and hymns will be sung throughout the service, and the congregation can talk quietly with their fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ about their spiritual walk with God.

The event is free of charge, but reservations are recommended. For reservations, visit http://bit.ly/1bBoSRo.

William Peace University is located in the heart of Raleigh, North Carolina. It was founded in 1857 as Peace Institute, offering education for boys and girls in primary grades and to women from high school to college. Peace, an all women's college, became a four-year baccalaureate college and graduated its first bachelor's students in August of 1996. Exclusively an all-women's institution for its first 152 years, Peace began offering coeducational evening courses through the William Peace School of Professional Studies in 2009. In 2011, Peace College transitioned to William Peace University and began admitting male students to its day program in fall 2012. Its mission is to prepare students for careers in the organizations of tomorrow. On average, more than 90 percent of the university's graduates are placed in jobs or graduate school within one year of graduation. For more information, please visit http://www.peace.edu.
