Raleigh Little Theatre presents the 33rd annual production of "Cinderella," directed by Nancy and Rod Rich, running from December 2 - 18. Based on the fairy tale by Charles Perrault, this version from the Prince Street Players is adapted by Jim Eiler.

Alissa Alba, a recent graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill will play the role of Cinderella for the first time. "I'm honored to continue Raleigh Little Theatre's holiday tradition as their 33rd Cinderella. More than the sparkly gown and shoes, I'm thrilled to be a part of this timeless tale's evolution. My favorite stories are the ones that can evolve and grow with the complexity of a community, which is exactly what this production means to me," said Alba.

The role of the Prince will be played by Sai Graham, who has appeared in the last two productions as a Fairy Helper. "What excites me about playing the Prince is the opportunity to play a role that is relatable in many ways. In this version of Cinderella, he is someone who struggles with the hopelessness of finding what he wants in life. I can't wait to really dive in and be able to make the character as realistic and relatable as possible. I'm very excited about this year's production because every year brings something new and memorable, and I can't wait to see what I learn from this experience," said Graham, who is currently enrolled at William Peace University.

On opening night, December 2, $10 of every ticket will go to the Salvation Army of Wake County through a partnership with WRAL's Coats for the Children. These funds help buy warm winter coats and new toys for families in need. "This is a unique collaboration for our community. Just as Cinderella longs for hope and joy in the play, Raleigh Little Theatre's contribution provides hope and joy for children who need a warm, winter coat and a new toy for Christmas, said Phyllis Parish, Director of Local Production for Capitol Broadcasting. A cast member from "Cinderella" will also appear on WRAL's Coats for the Children Telethon Friday, December 9th.

"Cinderella" is sponsored by Coastal Federal Credit Union and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina and runs December 2 - 18 in the Cantey V. Sutton Theatre. Tickets for all events at RLT can be purchased by calling the box office (919)-821-3111, Monday through Friday, noon to 5:00 p.m., or by visiting the theatre's website at www.raleighlittletheatre.org.
