Raleigh Little Theatre Announces 2018/2019 Season ImageRaleigh Little Theatre's 2018-19 Acts of Courage Season features several area premieres and a brand new partnership with the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra, which will present two pops concerts in RLT's Stephenson Amphitheatre.

"The plays and musicals that were chosen contain characters who must take a strong stand in the face of seemingly overwhelming obstacles. As they do, these individuals learn more about their own capacity for making the world a better place. It is RLT's hope that, in witnessing their acts of courage, you will be inspired to follow their lead," said Patrick Torres, RLT's Artistic Director.

The Sutton Series includes the first local production of Sister Act, the area premiere of Ken Ludwig's Baskerville, and a revival of Stephen Schwartz's Pippin. In the Gaddy-Goodwin Series, The Revolutionists by Lauren Gunderson is another area premiere and is paired with Shakespeare's Measure for Measure. The Family Series features Joseph Robinette's adaptation of C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe along with Junie B. Jones, The Musical and Bob Marley's Three Little Birds, which features the music of Bob Marley and is based on a book written by his daughter Cedella Marley.
Seeking to continue growing programming in the Stephenson Amphitheatre, we contacted the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra, and after several meetings, a partnership was born. "The Stephenson Amphitheatre is a natural place to showcase the combined artistry of the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra and Raleigh Little Theatre, and I am really excited to be able to share and create unique performances for our community that we think families will want to make an annual tradition," said Jim Waddelow, Music Director of the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra.

The new series will kick off with a concert on Sunday, September 16 at 3pm, and planning is underway for a concert version of a classic musical featuring RLT performers to run the weekend of May 18-19, 2019. Tickets to the two Raleigh Symphony Orchestra concerts are available now as part of RLT's season membership program. Single tickets for these concerts and all of RLT's season will go on sale on July 1.

Tickets for all events at RLT can be purchased by calling the box office (919) 821-3111, Monday through Friday, noon to 5:00 p.m., or by visiting the theatre's website at www.raleighlittletheatre.org.
