RLT Opens THE BREMENTOWN MUSICIANS This Friday
A musical based on The Grimm Brothers' tale, The Brementown Musicians opens May 3 for a three-week run in the Gaddy-Goodwin Teaching Theatre at Raleigh Little Theatre. Donny the donkey and his fellow animals, including a cat, a dog and a rooster, are discarded by their owners. They follow their dreams of becoming famous musicians and in the process, save Brementown.
RLT recently announced the 2013-14 season, which will include the 30th anniversary of Cinderella in December and two area premieres. The 2012-13 season concludes with Once on this Island, running from June 7-23, 2013. This rousing Calypso-flavored pop score celebrates the art of storytelling and acquired eight Tony nominations for its Broadway run.
Also, in May, Bare Theatre and Cirque de Vol Studios present a circus-themed The Comedy of Errors in the Stephenson Amphitheatre at RLT. This will be the first production in the theater since 2010's Songs For a New World, and each evening features different food trucks.
Tickets for all events can be purchased by calling the box office (919)-821-3111, Monday through Friday, noon-5 PM, or by visiting the theatre's website at www.raleighlittletheatre.org. The Brementown Musicians runs from May 3-19. Thursday and Friday showings are at 7:30 PM; Saturday and Sunday showings are at 1 PM and 5 PM, with the exception of May 19th which only has a 1PM showing. Tickets are $15 for teens/adults, and $10 for children age 12 and under.
Raleigh Little Theatre is located at 301 Pogue St., Raleigh, N.C. 27607, adjacent to the Raleigh Rose Garden.
