The New Year brings many resolutions and one that apparently has been adopted by DPAC, the new Durham Performing Arts Center, is to have the most diverse season to date, a little something for everyone and can we say it- busy?

Since New Year rolled in DPAC has lit the lamp with no fewer than 10 new events announced for the year with the promise of many more exciting selections still to come. Truly a lineup with something for everyone and what makes it even more special is the intimate setting that evokes special memories.

"In just a year DPAC has become one of the most active and dynamic concert theaters in the U.S," said Bob Klaus, GM of DPAC. "What's most exciting is the great diversity of shows that have been hits at DPAC, from BB King to Steely Dan to Vince Gill, Maxwell and Harry Connick, area concert fans have quickly discovered the great acoustics and special setting that make concerts at DPAC the best."

Since its opening DPAC has hosted 29 concerts with 10 of those reaching full sell out status. Legendary events include Steely Dan, Willie Nelson, BB King and Maxwell.

Starting in February, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Steve Winwood promises to bring a performance not to be missed. Next up- R&B superstar Maze featuring Frankie Beverly will raise the roof; followed up with a repeat performance by New Orleans troubadour Harry Connick Jr. and his Orchestra, whose show sold out in 2008 may have history soon repeating itself. As if that wasn't enough to spice things up the unrivaled queen of southern cuisine, Paula Deen along with her family takes the stage to spice things up with two performances for the inaugural evening of the Celebrity Chef Series.

March promises to come in like a lion with the hard rockin', critically acclaimed country artist Gary Allan, followed by legendary classic rockers The Moody Blues. The second Celebrity Chef serves up Food Network's Tyler Florence, and the sold out performance of Wilco promises to be the perfect main event. March is acclaimed go out like a lamb, but Experience Hendrix begs to differ with modern day guitar heroes Billy Cox, Joe Satriani, Sacred Steel featuring Robert Randolph, Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ernie Isley, Brad Whitford (of Aerosmith), Doyle Bramhall II, Living Colour, and Double Trouble's Chris Layton, who will spread some purple haze.

In April, the Neelys make their appearance as the third part of the Celerity Chef series and in May legendary rock and roll band with horns, Chicago will remind fans why they are one of America's best-loved and successful bands of all time. While, iconic Ringo Starr and his All-Starr band will sizzle during the hot summer nights as he makes his way to the DPAC stage in July.
