Celebrating the elevation of Sing Alentejo the Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2014 by UNESCO, the composer Nuno Corte-Real presents the world première, its Brand new songbook - second book, which addresses the most important music features sung in Alentejo . The work, for string quintet, piano and choir, revisits some of the most beautiful melodies and songs that region. Also can listen to some of the work of Eurico Carrapatoso on traditional Portuguese music, and the String Quartet No. 12, "American", Antonín Dvorák, work written in just sixteen days in the heart of the United States in Spillville, Iowa , during his stay in that country. It is a composition that exalts both the American folklore as Czech. The musical performance will be in charge of Ensemble Darcos, which associates the Ricercare Choir, both groups under the direction of Nuno Corte-Real.
Nuno Corte-Real (n. 1971) studied Composition and Orchestra Direction in Lisbon and Rotterdam, directing his works since 1997 - interpreted by various formations, Portuguese and foreign, in Europe, the United States and Brazil. It is also founder and artistic director of Ensemble Darcos, training that has released several chamber compositions.
