The Lost Treasures Collection, a series of rarely performed musical gems presented in concert/cabaret version on Lakewood Theatre Company's Side Door stage, presents the third offering in its fourth season, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Food, wine and other beverages will be available for purchase before and during the show.

The production, with stage direction by Ron Daum and musical direction by Alan D. Lytle, will be performed for three shows on two dates only, Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, at 7:00 PM and a Saturday matinee, April 18 at 2:00 PM. The show is presented script-in-hand, with minimal staging. No sets, no props (free from the usual trappings of a fully staged production). This year's theme focuses on Men and Supermen. The Lost Treasures series sponsor is Dr. Fritz Camp.

This musical version of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty depicts Mitty (Alan Anderson) at age 40, tempted by "would-be chanteuse" Willa De Wisp (Cassi Q. Kohl) to leave his wife Agnes (Margo Schembre) and really live "the Secret Life." Lakewood's ensemble cast also features Darren Hurley, Teresa Renee, Sammuel Hawkins, Annika Cutler, Dennis Corwin, and Terra Hill.

The Story: On his 40th birthday, Walter Mitty reflects on his drab, ordinary life. Defeated in his quest for wealth and glory by family responsibilities, a mortgage, and a routine job, he creates elaborate fantasies in which he is the hero. His secret world is so enticing that he often loses sight of the boundary between dream and reality and comically slips into his imagination. An attractive would-be chanteuse aptly named Willa de Wisp encourages Walter to leave his wife, shed the burdens of suburban living and really live the secret life.

Ticket prices are $20 for all seats. Contact the Lakewood Theatre Box Office at (503) 635-3901 or order online at http://www.lakewood-center.org

Lakewood Theatre Company's Side Door Stage is located in the Community Meeting Room at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego. Food and beverages are available to purchase before and at the show.
