About the Play: Godspell made its off-Broadway debut on May 17, 1971. Written by John-Michael Tebelak and composed by Stephen Schwartz, the show won instant acclaim for its gentle but very powerful message. Godspell is a celebration that is spirited, loving, sprinkled with wry humor and bolstered with a rousing selection of songs - rock, folk, country, and pop - all neatly woven in and around the parables and teachings of Jesus. In short, a rollicking celebration of man ... alive, relevant, and joyful! Featured songs include: "Day By Day," "All Good Gifts," "O Bless the Lord," "Light of the World," and "By My Side."

The Lakewood Theatre Company production of Godspell features Benjamin Tissell, Brock Bivens, Joey Côté, Tasha Danner, Clara-Liis Hillier, Jorie Jones, Amanda Pred, Alexander Salazar, Kelly Sina, Colin Stephen Kane, Alec Cameron Lugo, and Jeremy Sloan.
