Jay Flewelling Presents PLEASE UNDERESTIMATE ME
Jay Flewelling presents Please Underestimate Me, adapted for the stage from Jay Flewelling's book of personal essays by Jason Rouse & Jessica Dart. The show is directed by Jason Rouse.
Please Underestimate Me is an autobiographical sketch comedy-style theatrical event based on Jay Flewelling's personal essays. Throughout his life, whether he was surviving a Christian elementary school, traveling internationally, or jogging on a public street, Jay has been underestimated. But is being the underdog actually an advantage? Five actors and the real Jay alternately embody "Jay" and a host of other characters throughout a series of funny, bizarre, and touching situations both scripted and devised. Following a successful Fall 2017 run at Curious Comedy Theater, the original cast and director are back for six more performances at Portland Playhouse, August 3-12, 2018.
August 3-4 & 10-11, 7:30pm
