CoHo Clown CoHort Presents WITCH HUNT
WITCH HUNT*, a new comedic work in progress from the CoHo Clown CoHort, is influenced by the Puritan work ethic, the Federalist Papers, current events, and also a famous play (kind of, but not really). WITCH HUNT asks,
How did the Puritan work ethic inform our social and political institutions? How have these systems served to repress creativity? And most importantly, who can beat Satan at musical chairs?!? With extreme physical comedy and minimal dialogue, the CoHo Clown Cohort playfully examines the thrilling boundary between repression and freedom.
*The Fertile Ground Festival guide lists WITCH HUNT by the name of that famous play mentioned above, but it's really called WITCH HUNT, we swear.

For 23 years, CoHo Productions has pioneered artist led co-production as a model of creating theatre. Each season, CoHo solicits scripts and project proposals from Portland's community of theatre professionals and selects three to produce in partnership. The artistic vision is democratic, reflecting the tastes of the Portland theatre community from the ground up. Seasons are diverse and unpredictable; the sole quality nurtured and insisted on is excellence.
