BUILDING THE WALL Added to Triangle's Line Up
ADDED PLAY TO triangle's 27TH SEASON, April 20-27, 2017 - 2 weeks only: BUILDING THE WALL by Robert Schenkken
Triangle is joining other theatres around the US as a rolling roll out of a Word Premiere play.
Presently there are 45 theatres that have rearranged their schedules to add this show.
Written by Robert Schenkkan (Pulitzer Prize winning playwright - Kentucky Cycle and Tony Award winning playwright - All the Way about LBJ) wrote this play about AFTER the wall was built- the year is 2019.
On January 20, 2017, Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States. Over the next six months, events would unravel that test every American's strength of character: executive actions, an immigration round-up of unprecedented scale, and a declaration of martial law. Rick finds himself caught up as the front man of the new administration's edicts and loses his humanity. In a play that harkens George Orwell's 1984 and the Nazi regime, Building the Wall is a terrifying and gripping exploration of what happens if we let fear win.
Underwritten by Ellyn Bye to bring this production to the stage in a timely manner.
