Thirty-five-year-old Felix Humble is a Cambridge astrophysicist in search of a unified field theory. Following the sudden death of his father, Felix returns to his middle England home and his difficult and demanding mother, and soon realizes that his search for unity must include his own chaotic home life.
CAST OF CHARACTERS
Felix Humble an overweight but not unattractive man of about 35
Flora Humble a very attractive woman in her late 50's
Mercy Lott a sweet, mousey friend of Flora's about the same age, who has the most hilarious pre-luncheon prayer-monologue you've ever heard (delivered sincerely)
George Pye Flora's lover; the stereotypical salesman-country club type around 60 years old
Rosie Pye George's daughter, a spirited young woman Felix's age or a little younger
Jim the gardener a thoughtful and quiet man in his late 50's or 60's
Note: we will not do this in an English accent but rather, in a good, clear American accent. We are looking for a backdrop painter-blue sky, fence and trellis in background.
