Anthology Productions Launches in Portland
The new Oregon nonprofit will debut its first production at the World Trade Center Theater in downtown Portland.
Anthology Productions, a new Oregon nonprofit theater company founded by producer and theater artist Andy Baldwin, has announced its launch.
Based in Portland, the company will produce work in themed cycles rather than traditional seasons. According to the company's announcement, each cycle will function as a self-contained body of work, with productions developed and curated around a central idea before the next cycle begins. Upcoming productions will not be announced until the current production opens, and reservations will be offered without prepayment.
The company’s inaugural programming initiative, Anthology One (A1), will explore the question, “What is storytelling?” The cycle will include four mainstage productions alongside two entries in the company’s In the Margins series, which will focus on intimate, actor-driven works staged in nontraditional spaces.
Anthology One’s first production is scheduled to be announced in August, ahead of performances beginning in December 2026 at the World Trade Center Theater in downtown Portland. The 200-seat venue will serve as the home for the company’s debut production.
"The negative national narrative of our city has energized us. Our response is to keep joy and vibrancy centered in the heart of Portland and give Portlanders another reason to gather downtown, shop, eat, and see world-class theater. December is when we remind folks that the magic is right here, and it belongs to everyone," said Andy Baldwin, Founder and Artistic Director
