Acorn Holds '09 Southern Maine Combined Theatre Auditions 6/16-6/22 In Westbrook

Acorn Productions will be holding the 2009 Southern Maine Combined Theater Auditions on Tuesday, June 16th from 6pm-9:30pm and on Monday, June 22nd from 5pm-8:30pm at the new Acorn Studio Theater in the Dana Warp Mill at 90 Bridge St. in Westbrook. The Monday, June 22nd auditions will be followed by a social gathering at the studio theater for the theater community.

Companies already committed to attending are: AIRE, Theater at Monmouth, Public Theater, The Originals, L/A Arts, Fenix Theater and Acorn Productions. This will be a great opportunity for local actors to be seen by over a dozen directors, playwrights and producers at the same time.

Actors are asked to prepare two contrasting monologues (no more than 5 minutes total) and bring 20 headshots and resumes (extras will be returned) Actors wishing to be considered for Acorn's Naked Shakespeare Company must perform at least one Shakespearean monologue.

Sign-ups are available at the company's website www.acorn-productions.org or by phone at (207) 854-0065. Actors will be seen in groups of 5 actors every half hour and many slots fill up, so actors are encouraged to sign up early.
