It’s Christmas Eve in Paris, and a young poet meets the love of his life in Puccini’s story of romance, friendship, and the struggle for survival among starving artists. David Lomelì (Lucia di Lammermoor , 2010) returns as Rodolfo, and Leah Crocetto (Pittsburgh Opera debut) stars as Mimí, alongside former Resident Artist Craig Verm (The Pearl Fishers,2011) and Sari Gruber (Don Giovanni , 2012) as Marcello and Musetta. Antony Walker leads the production, designed by Tony winner Michael Yeargan (for Light in the Piazza, 2005) –19th-century Paris in its vigor and charm. Tomer Zvulun debuts as stage director.
