Point Park University's Conservatory Theatre Company will be wrapping up the 2015-2016 season with the award winning musical, 'The Drowsy Chaperone,' the musical-within-a-musical comedy that our theatre-crazed narrator, Man in Chair, takes us through as he listens to his fictional, 1928 Jazz Age musical record.

Directed by Jack Allison and Associate Director and Choreographer, Eileen Grace, 'The Drowsy Chaperone' runs March 18-27 in the Rockwell Theatre at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, 222 Craft Ave. Performances will be at 8 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Adult tickets are $24, students and seniors are $10 and can be purchased by calling the Pittsburgh Playhouse box office at 412-392-8000 or visiting www.pittsburghplayhouse.com.

"As Man in Chair says, the show will 'take you to another world,' jam packed with hilarity and full of gags and gimmicks from musical theatre's golden era," says Associate Director and Choreographer, Eileen Grace. "Audiences will take this sentimental journey with our uproariously funny and talented cast."

Based on the book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar, and music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, 'The Drowsy Chaperone' will transport audiences into the imagination of Man in Chair as he takes us on a colorful ride full of music, love and passion. The plot follows the famed actress, Janet Van De Graaff, who plans to give up a life on the stage to marry the rich and charming, Robert Martin. But as other vibrant characters interfere with Janet and Robert's love, the wedding is suddenly in question. Will there still be a glamorous wedding?

The Conservatory Theatre Company production features musical direction by Camille Rolla, choreography by Eileen Grace, scenic design by Britton Mauk, costumes by Joan Markert, lighting by Scott Nelson, and sound by Josh Maywood.
