Announcing The 2018 CLOE Award Winners!

The Pittsburgh CLO Guild is proud to announce that Sandra and William Lambert will be honored with the CLOE Award for Community Service at the 63rd Annual Pittsburgh CLO Guild Ball on May 19 at the Westin Convention Center Hotel. The CLOE award was established in 2011 to recognize and celebrate individuals who have made significant contributions to our community.

Sandra and William Lambert have devoted their lives to philanthropic efforts which have benefited Pittsburgh CLO and other notable organizations in our region, such as the Senator John Heinz History Center and the Woodlands Foundation. This year, after a distinguished career of 36 years, Bill is retiring as CEO of MSA Safety, and recently stepped down from his role as Chairman of the Board of Pittsburgh CLO after a highly successful term of office. Past CLOE Award winners include: Van Kaplan, Joseph and Kathleen Guyaux, Violet and Judge Robert Gallo, Stephen and Helen Hanna Casey, Marie Ganassi and Athena and Frank Sarris.

The CLOE Award presentation will take place at the Pittsburgh CLO Guild Ball, co-chaired by Laura Penrod Kronk and Dolores Warwick. The event will showcase the 2018 Pittsburgh CLO Summer Season opening production of ON YOUR FEET! with a themed evening titled "The Rhythm is Gonna Get You." This incredible evening will include a Silent Auction, dynamic performances highlighting the 2018 Pittsburgh CLO Summer Season, dinner and dancing.

Proceeds from the Ball support Pittsburgh CLO Guild's commitment to Pittsburgh CLO, including mainstage productions and arts education programs such as the Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theater, CLO Summer Internship Program and the CLO Mini Stars. The Guild also offers college scholarship assistance to deserving students pursuing musical theater training. For additional information or ball reservations, please contact Andrew Frey at 412-281-3973x234 or afrey@pittsburghclo.org.

Since 1946, Pittsburgh CLO has been the driving force behind live musical theater in Pittsburgh and the entire Southwestern Pennsylvania region. Under the direction of Van Kaplan since 1997, this not-for-profit arts organization appreciates the support of nearly 200,000 patrons yearly who attend its performances at three venues in the Cultural District: a seasonal subscription series at the Benedum Center, A Musical Christmas Carol at the Byham Theater and year-round shows at the CLO Cabaret. Its dedication to the musical theater art form includes educational programs such as the CLO Academy for Performance and Art, the CLO Mini Stars, the Gene Kelly Awards, the Richard Rodgers Award and The National High School Theatre Awards. As part of its new works development, the organization has been involved with 22 Broadway shows (30 Tony Awards), and in 2014 produced the world premiere of An American in Paris, on Broadway (4 Tony Awards) and in London's West End. In addition, Pittsburgh CLO launched the SPARK festival for new small-cast musicals in 2018. For more information please visit pittsburghCLO.org.
