Woman's Show Opens At Goldenstein Gallery

On Friday May 4, Goldenstein Gallery kicks off their "Women's Show" with an opening reception from 5-8pm. This dynamic show featuring their female artists celebrates the feminine perspective of the visual arts, which historically has been underrepresented. Gallery owner Linda Goldenstein has been a champion of women in the arts throughout her career: The art of noted female artists will be featured in this show in a broad range of styles and mediums.

"We were only working with 2 female artists when we first featured this show 15 years ago - now we work with well over 20 renowned female artists!" says Linda Goldenstein. The women in this show share a powerful voice and perspective with their art. Many have been featured in Museum shows and collected internationally.

Ali's Mignonne creates stunning three-dimensional paintings with her trademark sculptural style developed by chance in the early 2000's after a year of home renovations. As she was creating a stonewall effect in her home, she discovered the material's versatility and began experimenting. Years later, after much trial and error, she developed her current technique to create 3-D paintings of trees and grottos that pop off the canvas and pools of water the viewer feels they could dive-in to.

Patricia A Griffin has spent the past 28 years painting, teaching, and traversing the US. Her scintillating portraits of animals explore the subjects of humanity's earliest artists. Her palette is responsible in large part for the power of her work. Bold colors and light dominate her paintings where multiple layers of oil paint capture the personality of the animals she paints. Griffin stays of her work, "My paintings are a contemporary manifestation of an ancient muse. My wish is to bring the viewer into a present moment of reflection and peace." She has exhibited in 15 Solo Exhibitions, over 130 Group Exhibitions and donates 10% of the proceeds from the sale of her work towards wildlife conservation.

Griffin and Mignonne will also be featured at Goldenstein's acclaimed Artists Coffee Talks in the Gallery series on Saturday, May 5 at 9:30 a.m. where guests are able to more personally connect with artists. And they will be painting in Goldenstein's Artist in Residence series at L'Auberge de Sedona.

You can find a complete schedule of upcoming Artists Coffee Talk speakers and Artists in Residence schedule at GoldensteinArt.com. Jourdan Dern, Marilyn Bos, Syri Hall, Reagan Word, JA Gorman and Kevin McCarthy will also be Artists in Residence at L'Auberge in May.

For her entire 92 years, Adele Seronde has been profoundly moved by the beauty of the natural landscape and flowers she loves to paint. She is an artist, poet, author and activist and will be participating throughout the exhibit and in the Artists Coffee Talk in the Gallery on May 12 at 9:30am.

Sherab Khandro will be the featured Artist in Residence painting in the pointillist style in the Gallery from 11am-2pm on May 7, 14 and 21. She will also be at the Artists in Residence at L'Auberge painting and talking about her beautiful line of Intentional Jewelry pieces throughout May and June. Please check the schedule.
