Theatre Artists Studio's 2015-16 Season to Include THE WEIR, GRAND CONCOURSE & More

By:

The Studio has announced its 2015-2016 season. Here's a breakdown of currently scheduled events and dates!

Crimes of the Heart, by Beth Henley; September 4 - 20, 2015
In Hazlehurst, Mississippi, the troubles of the three Magrath sisters are both grave and laughable as, together, they try to escape the past and seize their future. A touching and consistently hilarious story that will linger in the mind long after the lights fade to black.

American Myth, by Christina Gorman; October 16 - November 1, 2015
Based on actual events, this highly topical play explores intriguing moral questions in today's controversy-saturated society where the smallest public misstep can result in utter catastrophe. What should we believe? What should we question? What is the American Myth?

Cinderella, music, lyrics and book by Ezra Weiss; November 27 - December 13, 2015
Definitely not your Disney Cinderella! A fresh new take on the fairytale favorite, this delightful new musical offers a rollicking good time for the whole family. You'll be humming the songs and tapping your toes to the music all the way home.

Grand Concourse, by Heidi Schreck; January 15 - 31, 201
The story of a Bronx soup kitchen, the dedicated nun who runs it, and the diverse characters who populate it. Told with keen humor and startling compassion, this fascinating play navigates the mystery of faith, the limits of forgiveness, and the pursuit of something resembling joy.

The Weir, by Conor McPherson; February 26 - March 13, 2016
In a remote country pub in Ireland, newcomer Valerie arrives and becomes spellbound by an evening of ghostly stories told by the local bachelors who drink there. What starts out as blarney, however, soon turns dark as the tales drift into the realm of the supernatural. Haunting, evocative theatre!

The Outgoing Tide, by Bruce Graham; April 8 - 24, 2016
In a summer cottage on Chesapeake Bay, Gunner has hatched an unorthodox plan to secure his family's future but meets with resistance from his wife and son, who have plans of their own. As winter approaches, the three must quickly find common ground and come to an understanding - before the tide goes out.

Equal Opportunity Offenders: Music from South Park; May 20 - June 5, 2016
Experience the brilliance, relevance and irreverence of the South Park gang through their hilarious music!

New Summer Shorts 2016; June 16 - 26, 2016
Our summer festival of short plays penned by Studio playwrights is an annual audience favorite. Some comical, some dramatic, some completely absurd, they all add up to 90 minutes of unique theatre you won't experience anywhere else.
