Under My Skin, written by Rody Vera and directed by Melvin Lee, tells multiple stories of various Filipinos an HIV-positive teenager, a mother, and a gay beauty parlor employee introduced through the character of Dr. Gemma Almonte. Dr. Almonte is an epidemiologist at the Department of Health who is studying the rapid increase and spread of HIV in the country. Instead of a society with ignorance and bias, she dreams of one with empathy and understanding to change the publics sensitivity to HIV.

December 10, 2021 After a successful run of Rak of Aegis Online, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) announces another streaming play to cap 2021. This time, PETA revamps Rody Vera’s provocative, relevant, and heart-wrenching anthology drama on HIV, Under My Skin, directed by Melvin Lee, from the stage to the screen, together with esteemed advocacy organizations The Red Whistle and LoveYourself, and UNILAB, Inc., PETA’s major co-presenter.

Categorized by its creators as a a?oedrama anthology,a?? Under My Skin is a one-act play that weaves through several stories based on the experiences of real-life Filipino individuals living with HIV. At the onset, the main agenda of the play is to educate its audience with correct and updated information about HIV and AIDS in the Philippines.
