PlayPenn’s 20th Anniversary New Play Development Conference returns in 2025, expanding eligibility to playwrights from the Mid-Atlantic Region. This conference will select four plays, including at least one by a Philadelphia playwright, to be developed in partnership with local theatre companies. Each selected play will undergo a 29-hour workshop over two weeks, leading to two public readings that engage the community. PlayPenn has a history of supporting acclaimed playwrights, and the participating theatres will be announced in March 2025.
