Philadelphia International Music Festival at Valley Forge for America250 at Valley Forge National Historic Park, Muhlenberg's Brigade

Students from the Philadelphia International Music Festival, featuring members of The Philadelphia Orchestra, will perform in dedication ceremonies for a new firepit at Valley Forge National Historic Park's Muhlenberg's Brigade as part of America's Semiquincentennial celebrations. Two ensembles comprised of 9 string and wind instrumentalists ages 13 to 19 will open the festivities at 9:30 a.m. with selections of chamber music. The program will include arrangements of patriotic works as well as melodies from the era of the American Colonists and the court of King George. The performance takes place amid wooden huts replicating those used by Continental Army soldiers during the winter encampment of 1777-1778.
