La Guagua 47, written by Philadelphia civic leader Alba Martínez and directed by Laurie Woolery, is a world premiere musical staged reading presented by Philadelphia Theatre Company. Inspired by Philadelphia's Latino communities and the SEPTA 47 bus line, the 60-minute presentation tells the story of a young girl who moves from Puerto Rico to Philadelphia and finds community and belonging where she least expects it. The production is supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage and The National Alliance for Musical Theatre, with a full production planned for PTC's 2027/28 season.
