The West Chester University Criterions Jazz Ensemble, directed by Jonathan Ragonese, celebrates 100 years as the longest running band of its kind in the United States, having formed in the 1926-27 season. Ragonese is a composer-arranger-saxophonist and Director of Jazz Studies at the Wells School of Music at West Chester University, having performed with Steve Wilson, David Liebman, Jon Faddis, and others. His compositions have been commissioned by the New York Film Festival, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the Museum of Modern Art, among others.
