The Renegade Company will present a new work titled Glass: Shattered. The piece is inspired by Tennessee Williams' American classic The Glass Menagerie and is written and directed by Renegade's Artistic Director Michael Durkin. Glass: Shattered runs from June 5th -22nd.

Glass: Shattered takes non-realistic approach to the story. The current digital climate allows for us to constantly recreate, reconstruct, and revision memories. Renegade uses the Williams' iconic work as a point of reference and brings their deconstructive approach to this American classic. Inspired by the landscape of David Lynch's films, where the boundaries become blurred, the characters become involved a continual loop as they relive their experience and discover their stories. Renegade utilizes a sensory approach to give the audience an immersive and dream-like experience.

Exploring the familiar in unfamiliar ways, The Renegade Company deconstructs classic stories to create new theatrical endeavors. This is achieved by forging unconventional relationships between text and presentation, manipulating expectations and using a multi-sensory approach. The Renegade Company produces Glass Shattered, fresh off their critically-acclaimed co-production of The Amish Project (produced with Simpatico Theatre at the Walnut's Studio 5). Other past productions include Hamletmachine and themedeaplays at Underground Arts and A Prometheus Bound: A Folk Musical at Society Hill Playhouse.

This production stars Renegade Company member Eric Scotolati, who recently appeared as Alan in Equus at Curio Theatre and in Pookie Goes Grenading with Azuka Theatre. The productions will also feature Megan Slater (Flashpoint Theatre's The Bends), Amanda Grove (1812 Productions' Mistakes Were Made) and Renegade Company member Griffin Stanton Ameisen (EgoPo Classic Theatre's Houdini and The Golem). The design team includes Robin Stamey, Daniel Kontz and Jamie Grace-Duff.

Continuing Renegade's commitment to Unconventional Community Collaboration, Little Babies Ice Cream will be our community partner for this production. Little Baby's Ice Cream is a Hand-Made, Small-Batch, Super-Premium Ice Cream company. They specialize in unique and surprising flavor combinations with additional emphasis on providing Non-Dairy and Vegan options to suit every kind of open-minded and convivial citizen. Little Babies will be creating a new ice cream flavor inspired by Glass:Shattered that will be incorporated into the audiences experience during the show.
