THE BOOK OF MORMON Breaks House Record in Philadelphia; Runs Through 9/14
The Book of Mormon, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, has broken the house record in Philadelphia, PA for the week ending August 10 the Forrest Theatre grossing $1,678,495.00 for a standard 8-performance week. This tops the previous record, held by Jersey Boys in 2012 of $1,617,700.00.
The national tours of The Book of Mormon have broken 68 house records in 31 venues across the country. At Broadway's Eugene O'Neill Theatre, The Book of Mormon has broken the house record 49 times.
The Book of Mormon plays at the Forrest Theatre through September 14, 2014.
The Book of Mormon features book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. The production is choreographed by Casey Nicholaw and is directed by Nicholaw and Parker.
