Peter Nero and the Philly Pops Present Symphonic Surfin’ Safari, 3/21-25
Peter Nero, Music Director of Peter Nero and the Philly Pops® today announced Symphonic Surfin' Safari, a tribute to The Beach Boys on March 21, 23, 24 and 25th at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia. Peter and The POPS will be joined by Papa Doo Run Run and will perform Beach Boys favorites like Good Vibrations and Wouldn't It Be Nice.
"Symphonic Surfin' Safari will transport you to a warm beach in sunny California," said Peter Nero. "We have an incredible selection of your favorite Beach Boys tunes arranged with The POPS twist and with our special guests, Papa Doo Run Run. This will be a fun series of happy music that will delight audiences of all ages!"
Symphonic Surfin' Safari will be held at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia on March 21 at 8:00 p.m., March 23 at 8:00 p.m., March 24 at 3:00 p.m. and March 25 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are available at www.phillypops.org or by calling Ticket Philadelphia at 215-893-1999.
Papa Doo Run Run is a Beach Boys tribute band originally founded in 1965 as The Zu and is comprised of current and former members of The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean's, Frankie Valli's and BrIan Wilson's bands. The band has produced ten albums and a full length live show DVD, plus seven singles and two EP's. Their first major record release in 1975, Be True To Your School was produced by Bruce Johnston of The Beach Boys and made the Billboard Hot 100 nationally, reaching #1 in California. Over nearly 5 decades they have been performing, earning two Gold Record awards and a Grammy nomination. In 2007, Papa Doo Run Run was inducted into the California Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
