Hershey Area Playhouse Presents FULL MOON OVER MONTMARTRE, 1/14-1/16
Hershey Area Playhouse begins 2010 with a special presentation about an extraordinary disease, January 14 through 16, 2010.
'Full Moon Over Montmartre', written by Billy Doswell and directed by Jim Thomas, follows the onset and progress of Alzheimer's Disease as it effects Sadie, one of only two characters in the play. The disease interrupts their plans for a dream vacation and interrupts the rest of their life together.
Playwright Doswell is a retired CIA Administrator and currently resides in Richmond, Virginia. He is 81 and continues to write. He will attend the final performance of the play on Saturday, January 16, 2010.
Full Moon Over Montmarte is sponsored by The Doctors Kienle Center for Humanistic Medicine, Penn State Hershey College of Medicine, Humanities Department and Country Meadows Retirement Communities. The play is the first of what Hershey Area Playhouse hopes to be a closer relationship with the area's medical community and care providers.
Following the final performance on Saturday, January 16, 2010; Hershey Area Playhouse will host a reception and "talk back" at the theatre. Nationally ranked and locally known experts on Alzheimer's Disease will include Dr. Dan George, co-author of "The Myth of Alzheimer's Disease", WITF Radio's morning news broadcaster, Tim Lambert whose mother died of the disease, Alzheimer's Association representatives and Alzheimer's Care representatives from Country Meadows. The "talk back" will be hosted by Dr. John Messmer. The public is invited to attend the "talk back" which should begin after the performance at approximately 9:30 pm at Hershey Area Playhouse. Tickets to the "talk back" are not required, and admission to the "talk back" is free.
The production runs from Thursday, January 14, 2010 through Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Hershey Area Playhouse at Country Meadows, located on the campus of Country Meadows in Hershey at 830 Cherry Drive (near the corner of Sand Hill Road). Performances will be held each evening at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $17 for teens/adults and $15 for kids 12 and under (service charges apply) and are available at HersheyAreaPlayhouse.com.
