Brockman, Shew Lead An Audition Workshop At Hershey Area Playhouse 6/20

Hershey Area Playhouse is pleased to announce that professional actors Jane Brockman, a Hershey High School graduate, and her husband, Tim Shew, will share their experiences from their Broadway careers and provide an audition workshop to the public on Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Those interested in auditioning for Ms. Brockman and Mr. Shew are encouraged to bring a monologue or prepare a few measures of a song. An accompanist will be provided. People are also welcome to simply enjoy their talk and watch the audition workshop.

Ms. Brockman and Mr. Shew will be performing at Mt. Gretna Theater's Seven Brides for Seven Brothers in June. Last summer, Mr. Shew starred in Mt. Gretna's production of Shenandoah.
Most recently, Jane was seen as Lady Anne in Camelot with the NY Philharmonic broadcast "Live from Lincoln Center" starring Gabriel Byrne, Christopher Lloyd and Marin Mazzie. She was also the Mother Superior in ShowBoat at Carnegie Hall. Other NY performances include The York Theatre's Musicals in Mufti series Zorba and Encores! Kismet. Jane also sings throughout the year with the New York City Ballet.
Prior to that,Jane was privileged to be a part of the national tour of The Light in the Piazza where she understudied and performed the role of Margaret. Also, she was fortunate enough to work on The Producers movie directed by Susan Stroman and Law & Order SVU. For six years Jane performed in A Christmas Carol at Madison Square Garden. She was also on the road with the national tour of The Sound of Music playing Sister Berthe. She has also been seen on All My Children and in various commercials.
Jane has a B.M. degree in Voice from Penn State and a M.A. degree in Opera/Music Theatre from Southern Illinois University. She teaches voice at NYU and travels all over the country leading workshops in audition technique and working as an actor in New York.

Tim comes to Central Pennsylvania having just finished performing in The Civil War at Ford's Theatre. For the past nine years, Mr. Shew played the "Big Fat Man with a Bag" (Santa Claus) at New York City's Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular! Tim was last seen on Broadway, starring as Officer John Lonigan in the Bernstein/Comden and Green Broadway production of Wonderful Town with Brooke Shields.
Tim can be heard on the Chicago and Shaggy Dog movie soundtracks, and recently was seen at New York City Center's ENCORE production of Juno as well as on the Carnegie Hall stage in Leonard Bernstein's Mass. Also on the Broadway stage, Shew was privileged to portray Jean Valjean in the Tony Award-winning Les Miserables as well as The Scarlet Pimpernel as St. Cyr (original cast recording - Atlantic Records). Prior to that, Shew appeared in the Alan Menken, Tim Rice Production of Disney's King David, (original cast recording, Buena Vista Records). Tim starred in the Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls and can also be heard on the Grammy Award-winning Broadway revival recording. Mr. Shew's extensive work as a vocal director/clinician/adjudicator for theatre, choral and show choir festivals have taken him around the world.
