Due to popular demand, the Arden Theatre Company announces a one week extension of Beauty and the Beast, based on the book by Charles Way and directed by Whit MacLaughlin. Beauty and the Beast, originally scheduled to close on February 1, 2015, now runs on the F. Otto Haas Stage through February 8, 2015 at the Arden Theatre Company, 40 N. 2nd Street.

In this retelling of the classic fairy tale, two sisters leave London to start a new life after the loss of their family fortune. One is eager and outgoing. The other, Belle, is afraid and shy. When Belle meets the Beast, she begins an adventure unlike any she could have imagined.

Additional performances include:

Tuesday, February 3 at 10am

Wednesday, February 4 at 10am

Thursday, February 5 at 10am

Friday, February 6 at 10am and 4:30pm

Saturday, February 7 at 12pm and 4pm

Sunday, February 8 at 12pm and 4pm

Four of the added shows are 10am student group performances. Arden Group Sales Manager Sam Congdon says, "10am student shows are a great way to introduce young audiences to live theatre. Teachers receive a study guide ahead of time that they can review with students, and the students get a Q&A and Meet-and-Greet with the cast following the performance."

School or other groups of 20 or more interested in a 10am performance call 215.922.8900, ext. 29. 10am student ticket prices range in price from $14 to $18.

Single ticket prices are $18-$36, with discounts available for seniors, students, military, and educators. Arden Children's Theatre 2-play subscriptions are available for $26 - $50. Call the Arden Box Office at 215.922.1122, order visit www.ardentheatre.org or walk-up at the box office at 40 N. 2nd Street in Old City, Philadelphia.
