With the introduction of the orchestra and chorus of the prestigious Bachakademie Stuttgart Philharmonic Society's centennial Lima starts on Thursday April 16 its Third Symphony cycle at the National Theatre, thus inaugurating the Season 2015.
During his visit to Lima, the Bachakademie perform Mass in B minor or Great Mass work of German composer Johann Sebastian Bach. The orchestra and chorus of the Bachakademie come under the direction of Hans Christoph Rademann, and with the participation of the soprano Johanna Winkel, the mezzo soprano Ann Beth Solvang, Sebastian Kohlhepp tenor and baritone Markus Eiche.
The symphonic cycle consists of 4 concerts that have as scenario the Great Hall, and runs parallel to the traditional season of the Philharmonic Society of Lima. This year, the public can enjoy four great concerts by renowned ensembles and orchestras, such as the choir and orchestra of the Stuttgart Bachakademie, the Junge Philharmonie Sinfonietta Wien and Tallinn in Estonia.
The biggest attraction of this cycle will certainly be presenting for the first time in Lima of the famous English chamber orchestra Academy of St Martin in the Fields, one of the largest in the world. The orchestra will be accompanied by the superstar of classical music, violinist Joshua Bell, who is currently artistic director of the orchestra.
